Business Excellence

The EFQM Model is based on the 8 Fundamental concepts of Excellence. These concepts are the core values that every organisation must subscribe to in order to achieve Excellence. These are;

  • Achieving Balanced Results
  • Adding Value for Customers
  • Leading with Vision, Inspiration & Integrity
  • Managing by Processes
  • Succeeding through People
  • Nurturing Creativity & Innovation
  • Building Partnerships
  • Taking Responsibility for a Sustainable Future

EOH Consulting is a member of the European Foundation for Quality Management (EFQM). EFQM is a not for profit membership foundation which for the past twenty years has shared what works in business through a network of over 600 members comprising private and public organisations of every size and sector. EFQM applies its know-how and extracts outstanding approaches by engaging with executives and front-line managers.

The EFQM Excellence model is a non-prescriptive framework for understanding the connections between what an organisation does, and the results it is capable of achieving. It is used to structure a logical and systematic review of any organisation, permitting comparisons to be made with similar or very different kinds of organisations. It is also used to define what capabilities and resources are necessary in order to deliver the organisation’s strategic objectives. The EFQM Model assesses an organisation against nine criteria as illustrate below:

How can we help?
EOH Consulting assists clients by facilitating an organisation diagnosis using the EFQM Questionnaire method. The methodology involves the use of interviews and focus group sessions conducted over a five day period.

The assessment will rigorously test the organisation against the 9 criteria of the Model to determine how well it is doing in terms of:

  • Approaches designed to achieve specific results and the relevance of these approaches and how they support other approaches.
  • To what degree the approaches have been implemented and if so is there a structured implementation plan.
  • Does the organisation have measures to assess the effectiveness of the approaches, if so how have these measures been used to review and improve the approaches.
  • Have the approaches achieved the desired benefits and are the approaches contributing to organisational goals. The diagnosis will produce a detailed report that will form the basis of the input into the prioritisation workshop. This report will also help establish that Case for Change and motivate the organisation to implement improvements in a structured manner.
